DIY: Wi-Dyed Wreath

Friday night on the way home, I stopped by Joann's.  With my purchase of glue and glitter I thought to myself, "Boy, this is going to be a crazy Friday night." Little did I know I would stumble upon something great.  Something unexpected.  Something that would rock my world.  Wine Tie Dye!!  Yes!!


Let's start at the beginning.  I set out to make a coffee filter wreath, like such.
Supplies: 
Coffee filters
Wreath form 
Pomegranate Tea
 Glue Gun & plenty of glue sticks
 Fabric to wrap wreath form

I started by soaking coffee filters in Pomegranate Tea for a pink tint. Then, I applied glue to the edge only and coated in pink glitter. 




 But then something strange happened.  I spotted my wine sitting there all alone....
And that's when it happened 
That's right.  I did that. And got this.
And I loved it! 
So I nixed the glitter and made this!

Once your wi-dyed coffee filters have dried, simply fold and glue in desired pattern.  Here's the final result!

I love braids. I've always loved braids...mostly in my hair. But I am loving these braided accessories!!  Braids head to toe I say!

Happy 4th!

This 4th of July has reminded me not to taken my freedoms for granted - to get informed and to participate. I think we should all challenge ourselves to do so.  Re-read the Declaration of Independence, listen to a debate on the Constitution, buy a book on an aspect that interests you (and read it!).  If we don't care about our future, who will?

Falling Down on My Job!

Of posting that is.  Boy, this last week flew by!  Work, friends in town, pool, lake, 4-wheelin, fun and sun. Who can complain?  Well, I'm sure some people could, but not this girl!!  I think my feelings could best be expressed in a monologue from the made for tv movie....Mary Catherine Gallagher anyone? No?   Mmmk, well, I'll stick to photos.

First of all, what the holiday was all about - we flew our flag while enjoying the lake and taking time to appreciate all of the U.S. forces, past and present.

Have I mentioned that I love Texas?  And old barns? I'm planning a Sunday drive devoted exclusively to  photographing barns and churches.  Love.
